As a doctoral researcher, I work at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin and the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig. My research focuses on the autonomic nervous system, which helps regulate everyday bodily functions such as heart rate, breathing, and digestion. I look at how changes in this system during ageing may be linked to brain structure, brain function, and how our brains can stay healthy throughout life.
Together with Laura, I co-founded science streets and have led the project ever since, from the initial idea, through concept development and planning, to comic production and public exhibition.
For me, science streets is about making science easier to experience, inviting people to ask questions, and making it easier to talk about.
